Changes to Banners and Zones Not Appearing.

A troubleshooting guide to help when changes to banners & zones made in the Revive Adserver management UI are not visible when viewing the website where you are expecting the changes appear.

 


Symptoms

Changes are made to banners & zones in the Revive Adserver management UI, but these changes are not visible when viewing the website where you are expecting the changes appear. For example:

  • A new banner is added to an existing campaign, and the new banner is checked, and showing as being linked to the relevant zone, but where the zone is loaded on a website, the new banner doesn't appear.
  • A new campaign (with one or more banners) is linked to an existing zone, but where the zone is loaded on a website, the new campaign banners don't appear.
  • A banner is removed from an existing campaign, but where the zone is loaded on a website, the banner continues to display.
  • The delivery restrictions for banners/zones are changed (new restrictions added or removed), but these restrictions don't appear to work.

Troubleshooting Process

Step 1: Wait

By default, Revive Adserver will only update the banner deliver cache every 20 minutes.

So, wait a little while, and see if the changes you have made start to appear after this time.

If required, you can modify the banner delivery cache in the Banner Delivery Settings.
